Religious Exploration Leaders
RE Leaders are special, inspirational members of our beloved community who demonstrate the commitment and personal qualities needed to be an integral part of a child’s faith discovery and journey.
As a Protect My Ministry church, we utilize National Background Screenings for all RE Leaders which includes CORI and Sexual Offender Registry. Our children’s safety is of paramount importance to us. All people new to the UUSGU community are required to wait 6 months to a year before volunteering to lead RE for children and youth. We want you to get to know us, and we want to get to know you.

Our Whole Lives
Honest, accurate information about sexuality changes lives. It dismantles stereotypes and assumptions, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem, fosters healthy relationships, improves decision making, and has the potential to save lives.
For these reasons and more, we are proud to offer Our Whole Lives (OWL), a comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education curricula. A sexuality education program for youth that models and teaches caring, compassion, respect, and justice. A holistic program that moves beyond the intellect to address the attitudes, values, and feelings that youth have about themselves and the world.
Family Support
Supporting families is very important to us.
We are currently working on creating programming with the goal of better supporting the families of UUSGU. This may include small parent support groups, special events, Club UU, and more. If you would like to be part of the brainstorming and development process, let us know!
If you would like to learn more about family support, please contact DRE Cherilyn Reno at dre@uusgu.org.
