September 30th -“On Waking Up” – Rev. Daniel Gregoire
Being a people of vision means we must also wake up to a reality that often does not conform to our particular visions, but that is where the holy work of becoming “Woke” begins. The term “Woke” has been trending in the popular media coverage of the fight for greater justice. It refers to staying aware of the issues that affect all members of society, especially the most vulnerable. In this service we are crashing through comforting illusions as we raise the call to vigilance, solidarity and action. Being Unitarian Universalists means that we work to “Stay Woke”.
