We’ve Not Heard from the Girls…- In Honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
with Rev. Daniel Gregoire
Unoffending; innocent and beautiful… is how the four victims, the four little girls, were described at their funeral; in the eulogy delivered by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1963. Their lives cut short in an act of domestic terrorism at the height of the Civil Rights era in Birmingham, Alabama. What can we learn from this episode in our shared story, that we haven’t been able to learn in the intervening years? What would Dr. King say about the crimes still perpetrated on children today? What responsibly do we have as religious people to the memory of the lives lost to violence? Join us as we courageously explore how we heal our nation– together.
